Diva's Weekly Challenge #238: Tri-Bee (and the Blue Funk)

When I first saw this week's tangle, Tri-Bee, it seemed so easy. That should have been a sign! Probably overthinking it, I was quickly discouraged by my efforts in my sketchbook. I grabbed a blue tile anyway, and jumped in feet first. Blue Micron 01, blue washed tiled. This was going to be great! WRONG! The blue ink was bleeding all over! I tried to remedy to the situation by barely touching the paper, and moving really FAST! (This reminded me of the fiasco last week with the tea and the stencil!) I quickly filled in the string, held it out at arm's length and grabbed a Gelly Roll Moonlight pen in order to have a thicker ink.
This attempt left me feeling blue.

This morning, after a long walk in my favorite park, where I saw a blue (!) heron and several deer, I felt ready to have another go at Tri-Bee.

This feels much more relaxed! Lesson learned: when life puts you in a blue funk, take a walk!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I am truly grateful for your visit!

  1. I so enjoy reading your journeys and how you share, what you think of as "fails". No such thing. The first tile has a charm of its own you know :) I can see you adding a quote or sentiment to that right side area and making a lovely card from it or adding it to an art journal spread!

    1. These are both lovely pieces! I agree with Jean about a quote for the first one. The color and design are beautiful. (Typo in my first comment)

  4. I like both of them too and also like Jean's idea about the card/quote. I'm curious about what caused the ink to run. I think you handled it well.
