Zentangle is...

The Zentangle® Method, created by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, is an easy to learn, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.

Zentangle Class Schedule

Since January 2016, I have offered Zentangle® classes of many levels in a variety of settings, including corporate, private and public service classes. Prior to this, I taught French, EFL and study skills for 35 years. I teach all ages, but occasionally teach age-specific classes. I've participated in memory cafés for people with Alzheimers disease and given workshops to adolescents to help relieve text anxiety. Working with a bereavement counselor, I co-led a class for people dealing with grief after the loss of a loved one.

You can see some of my students' work under the "Mosaics" page, and some of their comments below.

I believe that the Zentangle Method is a process that can help us cope with many different challenges. I am always open to exploring more avenues in this wonderful world of Zentangle!

COVID-19 UPDATE

I am now offering free classes on Zoom. Currently, I have a class for continuing students, who have already taken the Introduction to the Zentangle Method, every Sunday from 3-4 EST. If you are interested, please email me for more information. Even if you can't attend, but register for the class, you will receive the recording.

  3. Your classes with my middle school students were amazing! We all learned a lot and I know my students enjoyed working with you. I'm planning to come to at least one of these workshops over the summer!

  5. I just took Jennifer's 6/23/2019 class on string theory. We always learn something new and exciting. Instead of tangling in the spaces created by a string, we tangled along the string itself, using tangles that could easily go along a line (e.g., flux, verdigo, poke weed and poke root, etc). I'm excited to see what Jennifer has in store for us at her next class in July.

    1. Thank you, Janet! I always enjoy exploring with you all. That was my first go at tangling the string, but definitely not my last!

I live in Chapel Hill and discovered you via the official Zentangle site.
I know with the coronavirus and the holidays things are hectic. I hope to join one of your Zoom classes when you resume.
