Joey's Weekly Challenge: S is for Striping

Thank you for an enjoyable challenge this week, Joey! When I first tried Striping, it looked really flat, even with my shading. Then I discovered the Zentangle enhancement of sparkling, which I think I've taken to the extreme in this tile! I used the lovely, curvy String #18, by Sandy Hunter.

I'm trying to pick up some tips on shading in the Facebook group, "Shading Zentangles". (There are some amazing artists sharing their work and following Eni Oken's instructional books and videos. Eni gives her suggestions, and is quite generous with her time.) I think I'll play with this a bit more and see what happens. I welcome, as always, your comments and suggestions!
Thanks for stopping by!

Update: Here's the new version. I used a Fabrico pen to deepen the shading and black pen to break up my exuberant highlights! Thoughts?

I'm stopping with this in the belief that Zentangle is non-representational AND "Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien." (Better is the enemy of good.)
Thanks again for stopping by!
